A Flower Tower is a garden that grows vertically. Read on and you’ll see what I mean.
Items you will need to make a Flower Tower include:
· Large Pots
· Wire Fencing
· Drain Tile
· Gravel
· Potting Soil
· Black Dirt
· Manure
· A Tarp
· Cutting Shears
· Plastic Tie Straps
· Sheet of Plywood
· Plastic Bottle
· Knife
· Plants
· Wire Clippers
Constructing The Flower Tower
The project begins with the forming of the tower. This is achieved by the wire fencing that will fit into the pot. Bend the wire and then cut to hold the tube shape together.
The shaped wire fencing creates the perimeters of the flower tower.
Next, comes the drain tile. This will hold the water that will irrigate the tower. Cut it to fit from the bottom of the pot to the top of the tower, then seal the bottom end with duct tape to keep the water in the structure, and place into the tower.

Add a few inches of gravel to the bottom of the pot to help in the draining.
Use the shears to cut the tarp that will be used to line the inside of and hold the soil in the tower and then secure the tarp to the tower using the plastic tie straps.
Mix the potting soil, black dirt, and manure on the plywood. Once thoroughly mixed, put it into the tower from the pot all the way to the top. Be sure to pack it tight so it won’t settle much when moist.

Now it’s time to plant. Take the knife and cut a horizontal slice and a vertical slice in the tarp. The cut should form an upside down “T.” Make sure that the cut goes into the drain tile. This will assure that water from the drain tile will seep onto the roots of the plants.
Install the plants into the holes randomly a few inches apart from one another.
At first blush, the tower may look sparse to you. Don’t worry, the plants will grow out and fill the open area resulting in a tower of full blooming plants. The plants in the photos are petunias.
It is advised that you fill the drain tile with water every 3 to 4-days.
Now you have a portable vertical Flower Tower garden that can be placed wherever you want on your property or even inside your home.
