How To Outline A New Flowerbed

Here are a few tips.

Of course, the project begins by determining where you want the flowerbed to be. Survey your property with an eye to the best location in relation to your home. Many people like to place the flowerbed up against the façade of the house, along a back fence, around a tree, etc.

Once you have decided on its location, then you next want to come up with the width of the bed. Many people have used a cut PVC pipe or piece of lumber to map out the width of their bed. Cut the PVC to a specific length and then use it to measure the location that you have selected for the bed.

Next, take a long garden hose or a heavy-duty outdoor extension cord to design the shape and perimeter of the bed. Adjust the hose or cord in accordance with the width you have determined.

Once you are happy with the layout, then spray paint along the edge of the hose or cord to outline the area of your new flowerbed.

Use Spectracide Weed & Grass Killer to kill the vegetation within the confines of the hose or cord. The Spectracide will kill the weeds and grass down to the roots. You will see the results in as little as three hours after applying the substance. The formula will not affect the soil.

Spray the Spectracide close to and in a consistent manner over the grass. Do not spray when windy. In addition, shield any areas that you don’t want to be affected with a piece of cardboard.

A PVC cut to length, a hose, and spray paint are all you need to design a flowerbed.

The Spectracide will kill all the grass in just a few days.

Next, go to the nursery and purchase compost, garden soil, and plants and go to work.

Once you have plants, compost, and soil in hand, dig out the dead grass area, lay down the soil and compost and install the plants. Viola! You have a beautiful flowerbed.
