They may not be as bad as bees, wasps or hornets. Still, gnats certainly are a nuisance. They appear in swarms and if you’re not careful they’re in your mouth and eyes before you realize it. Although they are not the major threat that some other flying insects may present, they are still inconvenient. I bet you would like to be rid of them.
Believe it or not, there is a remedy. It includes a large glass, a paper funnel and a small amount of apple cider vinegar.
Items you will need to construct this gnat trap include:
· A 9-oz. or larger glass
· Computer or notebook paper
· Tape
· Apple cider vinegar
Clean out the glass and then pour a small amount of the apple cider vinegar into it. Take the computer or notebook paper and make it into a funnel. Include a tiny opening at the bottom and make the top where the gnats will enter large enough to fit in the glass. Make sure that there is enough of the cider in the bottom of the glass to reach as close as possible to the bottom of the funnel. Use the tape to secure the funnel to the bottle.
The smell of the vinegar attracts the gnats to the funnel and they enter the glass. They can move around inside the glass, but they can’t get out of the trap. The gnats will walk around the glass looking for a way out until they get tired and then they will fall into the apple cider vinegar and drown.
Place a trap like this wherever you confront gnats both inside and outside your home.
