The Time Master Mower from Toro

With the growing season fully upon us, summer is a great time to look into purchasing a new lawn mower. With a plethora of options from which to choose from on the market, there is no doubt that it can be a bit intimidating to sort through the different models and find the one that’s best for you. In a recent post, we discussed the benefits and limitations of the robot mower; here, we offer an overview of a very different mower: the Time Master mower from Toro.

Toro Time Master Mower

What is so special about the Time Master mower?

The Time Master is a self-propelled push mower manufactured by Toro. It is available in two different models, the 20199 and the 20200, both of which are relatively similar in price. The difference between the two models is that the 20200 offers Electric Start, meaning that you will never need to pull the recoil chord to start the mower. This feature is more of a convenience feature than a performance one, but it is a real bonus for youngsters or other users who have difficulty starting the mower with the traditional system.

The real trump card offered by the Time Master mower is that it contains a 30-inch mowing deck, roughly 6 inches wider than traditional push mowers. Whether or not this size becomes the norm remains to be seen, but no one can deny that the 30-inch deck reduces mowing time substantially. In fact, Toro claims that the Time Master mower cuts mowing time by as much as 40%. Traditionally, one would need a commercial-grade riding mower to get a mowing deck of this size, and the genius of the Time Master mower is that it allows consumers this time-saving size.

Who is the Time Master mower best suited for?

Because of its size, the Time Master is ideally suited for those with large lawns. Those who previously used riding mowers may want to take a look at the Time Master. Because it is more maneuverable than a riding mower, the Time Master is also great for those who have large lawns but also have to deal with lots of trees. Lawn owners who partake in lots of mulching will also appreciate the dual force cutting system, and the blade stop feature allows the user to clear debris without having to restart the mower afterwards.

Because there are more affordable options out there that perform well, the Time Master may not be the choice for everyone.  Still, if you have a large lawn, looking into the Time Master will save you time, giving you that much more availability to focus on your other summer lawn care projects.
